Content Scorecard: Quality/Search Intent Compliance Check Before Going Live

What is a Content Scorecard?

The Content Scorecard is a control framework that allows you to systematically evaluate an article or page for quality, SEO compatibility, and search intent match before publishing. Just like a pilot's pre-flight checklist, this scorecard ensures that every published content passes a minimum quality threshold.

5 Main Evaluation Axes of the Scorecard

1. Search Intent Match — 25 Points

Search the target query on Google and examine the format of the first 5 results. Are they all lists? Comparison? Guide? Is your content compatible with this dominant format? If the user is searching for “technical SEO checklist” and you wrote a philosophical article, intent alignment is zero.

2. Depth and Comprehensiveness — 25 Points

List the subheadings covered by the top 5 competing articles. Does your content cover all of these? Additionally, is there a unique section that is not available in the competitors? Leaving a missing subtopic creates an "insufficient" signal in Google's eyes.

3. Technical SEO Compatibility — 20 Points

  • Does the title tag contain the target word and is under 60 characters?
  • Meta description is between 130-155 characters, does it contain a CTA?
  • Does H1 contain the singular and target word naturally?
  • Is the H2/H3 hierarchy logical and crawlable?
  • Do the images have alt text and are they in WebP format?
  • Are there at least 3 source references in internal links and at least 1 source reference in external links?

4. Readability and User Experience — 15 Points

Paragraphs should not exceed 3-4 sentences. Scannability should be ensured with bold text and subheadings. The use of lists and tables increases readability. Is the text easy to read in mobile preview?

5. Originality and E-E-A-T Signals — 15 Points

Is the content original or compiled from competitors? Do you have a unique perspective based on your own experience or data? Are the author information and bio fields filled in? Do citations point to reliable authorities?

Scoring and Threshold

Score each article on these 5 axes (100 points total). Do not publish content below 70 points and revise missing areas. Content that scores 85+ points falls into the "premium" quality class and becomes worth supporting with social media promotion. This systematic approach ensures consistency in your blog quality and helps you always get the green light in Google's algorithmic quality evaluation.
