E-E-A-T and YMYL SEO Strategy: How Does Google Measure Your Trust?
The Emphasis on Sites That Affect Your Health or Your Wallet (YMYL)
The Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) algorithm is one of the concepts that ended the era of the SEO industry and started its new era. Sites that may directly affect the financial situation, physical/mental health, security and happiness of the user have been placed under YMYL status. When giving index permission to a YMYL page, Google asks "Could this page harm my visitor?" It works based on philosophy. An amateur writer's question "What should be done in case of a heart attack?" It is not tolerated to write content named. However, if you write "best mechanical keyboard", the rules are more flexible.
What is the E-E-A-T Quality Scoring Signal?
As of 2026, content is filtered by these four circles:
- Experience: Did the author read about the subject by compiling it from the internet, or was a physical product tested in the field or was the service analyzed firsthand and put into the article?
- Expertise: Is the person presenting the information an author/institution with a diploma or title? (Doctors, Financial advisors, etc.)
- Authoritativeness (Authority): Has this expert / brand received references (backlinks or mentions) from other reliable surrounding sites? Do others reference this person's work?
- Trustworthiness: Are payment security (HTTPS, SSL certificates), corporate address/contact page clearly declared and transparent? Can it be proven that the author is not hidden?
Tactics to Increase E-E-A-T Score Algorithmically, Not Manual
So how do you technically send the "I am a reliable doctor/company" signal to bots?
The first step is Author Profiles and Schemas. By clearly adding the author bio to the beginning of each article on your site, ensure that a special page is assigned to the author and that the author is registered with their social (LinkedIn, etc.) account URLs in the Author Schema (JSON-LD). At the same time, adding Organization and LocalBusiness diagrams to your About Us page, including detailed team identification, mission/vision and your physical address, will level up your Google signals. On the other hand, giving outbound referrals to your academic research (e.g., PubMed or Official Institutions, not Wikipedia targets) strengthens the scientific nature of your content in the eyes of bots.
